Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS) is pioneering a new era of learning with our Virtual Reality (VR) training program, an innovative education solution designed to strengthen skills, boost confidence, and transform workforce development across the developmental services sector. This cutting-edge initiative uses immersive 3D simulations to replicate real-world scenarios, giving learners a safe, interactive environment to practice and master essential skills before stepping into live situations. From personal care and medication administration to safety and community engagement, our VR modules prepare staff, volunteers, and future professionals to deliver exceptional support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
The medication administration module gives LCDS staff and learners a safe environment to practice preparing and dispensing medication, with each attempt scored against the correct steps. Staff get an honest read on their own proficiency and a clear picture of where they need more practice before working with residents. Trainers can use the results to focus coaching where it matters instead of running everyone through the same generic refresher.
The module lets LCDS train teams anytime and anywhere with consistent quality, which matters across a workforce spread between sites and shifts. Interactive practice tends to land better than slide-based training, helping staff retain the steps and build confidence before they perform them on the job. And because the practice happens in VR, learners can work through complex medication tasks without any real-world risk to the people they support.
We build custom VR training solutions for organizations across Canada.
